Since 2009 Raj has authored or led CAQA Resources' nursing, health and community services library: learning and assessment resources for thousands of units of competency across the HLT, CHC and related training packages, from Certificate I to Graduate Diploma, plus curriculum, learning and assessment materials for bachelor's and master's level nursing and health programs.

Each product carries learner guides, assessment tools, marking guides and mapping documents. She is accountable for their clinical accuracy, their mapping to unit and learning outcome requirements, and their currency against training package and course changes, and she leads validation, moderation and audit of health and aged care assessment tools against the Standards for RTOs.

Teaching & Scholarship

Education as applied inquiry

Curriculum & assessment design

Formulates, implements and evaluates nursing education objectives, policies and procedures; designs and quality assures OSCE assessments for validity and fairness across cohorts.

Postgraduate teaching

Teaches into the Master of Nursing Practice at La Trobe University as Senior Lecturer in Nursing, bringing Nurse Practitioner level assessment, diagnosis and quality use of medicines to postgraduate learners.

Clinical placement leadership

Coordinates and evaluates placement activities within a best practice framework, liaising with clinical facilitators and Clinical Nurse Educators to align theory and practice.

Pedagogical methods

Applies simulation, scenario based and case based learning, and blended delivery, supported by the current TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.

Scholarship of Learning & Teaching

Integrates current clinical evidence and research into delivery, treats OSCE design and quality improvement as applied educational inquiry, and is committed to scholarly outputs and peer collaboration.

Student development

Mentors new graduate RNs in clinical reasoning and time critical decision making, and guides students toward critical care specialisation and advanced practice pathways.
