The Full Story

A clinician educator with a group to run.

Raj Kiran Kaur began nursing in 2006 in intensive care and midwifery at Adesh Hospital and Research Centre in Punjab, having graduated with distinction from the College of Nursing at the Adesh Institute of Medical Sciences under Baba Farid University of Health Sciences. She came to Melbourne in 2009, completed the Initial Registration Program for Overseas Nurses with Mercy Health in 2010, and worked in aged care, respite and women's health before joining The Northern Hospital, Northern Health, in 2011.

At Northern Health she progressed from the medical and surgical wards to postgraduate intensive care study, six years as a Critical Care Registered Nurse, and since 2020 the concurrent roles of ICU Liaison Nurse Consultant and Clinical Nurse Specialist. She holds dual Master of Advanced Nursing Practice degrees from the University of Melbourne, in the Critical Care Nursing stream (2023) and the Nurse Practitioner stream (2025), and is endorsed by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Nurse Practitioner with no conditions. She is formally verified as competent across 17 specialist clinical procedures.

In higher education she has lectured in nursing at RMIT University since 2018, across the Diploma of Nursing and the Bachelor of Nursing, and in 2026 was appointed Senior Lecturer in Nursing at La Trobe University's School of Nursing and Midwifery, teaching into the Master of Nursing Practice. Her teaching is built on OSCE design, simulation and scenario based learning, and the Scholarship of Learning and Teaching.

The Executive Record

Seventeen years shaping the CAQA Groups.

Raj has been Chief Operating and Financial Officer of Career Calling International and the CAQA Groups since August 2009, with accountability for operational governance, strategic financial planning, quality management system implementation and organisational risk across a national education compliance and resources group.

Her resource development record is one of the largest in the sector. For CAQA Resources she has authored or led learning and assessment resources for thousands of units of competency across the nursing, health and community services training packages, from Certificate I to Graduate Diploma, together with curriculum, learning and assessment materials for bachelor's and master's level nursing and health programs. She has written to every AQF level below doctorate. The subject areas run from first aid, nursing and health support services to pharmacy support, health administration, individual support, ageing, disability, dementia, mental health, community services and OET preparation, and the products are licensed to registered training organisations, TAFEs and universities across Australia.

She served as Resources Validator for the Australian Catholic University in 2014 and 2015, and as CAQA's Nursing and Health Industry Specialist she is accountable for the clinical accuracy, mapping and currency of the health and aged care assessment tools the group publishes. In 2026 she co founded the Australian Healthcare Agency, a registration pathway program for internationally qualified nurses, where she leads the registration, Outcome Based Assessment and OSCE preparation content.

A clinician whose teaching authority is grounded in current frontline practice: authentic, evidence informed leadership for complex, high acuity environments.
